A hybrid dog is a cross of two pure breed dogs. They are not considered to be purebred dogs which ahve been bred over many generations from dogs of the same breed. A purebred dog will look the same and have the same termperment as other dogs of that breed while the temperment for hybrid dogs is is much more difficult to determine.
The media has began calling our beloved mixed breed dogs ‘designer’ dogs. Due to the fact that many celebrities now have them. Designer dogs are just like all other dogs but they shouldn’t be confused with a mutts. Mutts usually are mixed breed dogs and the owner may or may not be aware of which breeds are in their dog. They could have a general idea but may not be positive of exactly which breeds are in their dog.
The American Canine Hybrid Club recognizes many different hybrid breeds. Although, these dogs are not technically considered a breed, they can and should be registered with the American Canine Hybrid Club. If you purchase your dog or new puppy from a breeder they should provide you with a Breeders Certificate.
Before purchasing or adopting a dog please consider if they have the room and time to add a new member to the family. All dogs require a lot of work and a lot of attention. Please be sure that you have the capacity to care for a dog before buying or a dopting a dog.
There is no doubt that the internet is obsessed with cute animals.
